Tasting Notes
Since 2005, the first vintage to be vinified by the Dourthe teams, Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac has had all the natural, human and material conditions required to belong to the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru elite.
A deep, brilliant ruby, this wine reveals a complex bouquet of great freshness, blending black and red fruit aromas with subtle floral notes. On the palate, the attack is soft, then the wine gains in structure, offering harmonious balance. Its fresh, juicy character is enveloped by delicate, silky tannins. The tasting continues with a lingering finish, marked by fruity flavors and a hint of woody finish.

Terroir
Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac is situated on stony clay-flint terraces known locally as ‘Graves de Saint-Emilion’ (Saint-Emilion stones) which stretch from the north-west of the village towards the communes of Libourne and Pomerol. Historically, this region has always been recognized for the high quality of its extremely delicate and elegant wines. We were extremely proud to take over the management of this jewel in the Saint-Emilion crown in 2005, with ambitious plans for its future development.
